SAIC Motor, a leading automobile manufacturer, announced robust sales in October, with total deliveries hitting 454,000 units — a 13 percent rise compared to the previous year. This marks the 10th straight month of year-on-year growth in 2025. This growth was fueled by its "three engines" of self-owned brands, new energy vehicles, and overseas markets.Between January and October, cumulative wholesale deliveries reached 3.647 million units, a 19.5 percent increase compared to the previous year, while retail deliveries totaled 3.834 million units, ranking first in the domestic industry.Its self-owned brands achieved total sales of 2.35 million units, reflecting a 28.3 percent increase compared to last year. New energy vehicles (NEVs) recorded total sales of 1.29 million units, marking a 42.5 percent rise year-on-year. Meanwhile, overseas markets totaled 862,000 units sold, a 2.2 percent increase from the previous year.

All self-owned brands saw a surge

SAIC Motor's self-owned brands continued to be the main driver of growth. In October, sales of these brands reached 306,000 units, a 22 percent increase compared to the previous year. Cumulative sales from January to October reached 2.35 million units, increasing by 28.3 percent year-on-year, and accounted for 64.4 percent of the total company sales, rising 4.4 percentage points from the same period last year. SAIC Motor Passenger Car Company sold 93,000 units in October, a 25.1 percent increase year-on-year, with domestic market sales soaring 234.4 percent from the previous year. SAIC Maxus delivered nearly 20,000 units, a 47.9 percent rise year-on-year, while SAIC-GM-Wuling sold 168,000 units, up 19.5 percent from the previous year.

NEVs hit new highs

SAIC Motor sold 207,000 NEVs in October, marking a 31.6 percent increase from last year. From January to October, cumulative NEV sales reached 1.29 million units, representing a 42.5 percent rise year-on-year. In October, IM Motors sold 13,000 vehicles, a 31.3 percent increase year-on-year, with the new-generation IM LS6 emerging as a "new hit" in the 200,000 yuan (~$28,066)-level mid-to-large new energy SUV segment. SAIC Motor Passenger Car Company delivered 37,000 NEVs, reflecting a 154.6 percent year-on-year increase. Maxus sold nearly 6,500 NEVs, rising 133 percent compared to the previous year. SAIC-GM sold over 12,000 NEVs, marking a 144.8 percent increase year-on-year. Meanwhile, SAIC-GM-Wuling delivered 123,000 NEVs, up 21 percent from the previous year.

Overseas markets show steady growth

In October, SAIC Motor's overseas sales were 97,000 units, bringing the total from January to October to 862,000 units, a 2.2 percent increase year-on-year. SAIC Motor's MG, a leading Chinese brand in European markets, sold 250,000 vehicles in Europe this year, reflecting a rise of over 20 percent compared to last year. In the United Kingdom, MG maintained rapid growth from January to September, with September sales hitting a record of 14,000 units, representing a 62.7 percent increase year-on-year. In France, MG sales exceeded 20,000 units, representing a 54.1 percent increase year-on-year, with historical cumulative sales surpassing 100,000 units. In Italy, MG sales reached 39,000 units, a 31.1 percent rise compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, MG sales soared by 645 percent year-on-year. The MG Hybrid+ family, equipped with the new HEV hybrid system, reached a monthly sales milestone of 20,000 units overseas in September, a 322 percent increase compared to the previous year.
