MG “Shake Run” held its first stop in Zhengzhou, capital of central China’s Henan province on September 26. And around 5,000 young people who love music and sports participated in the night- run-to-the-rock.

Chinese pop singers and bands presented a music feast at the event. While SAIC’s popular MG GS sport utility vehicles with an extra-long wheel base of 2,650mm and a 1,336-liter spacious trunk provided services to the runners all the way along.

Beginning with Zhengzhou, the event will be held in nine major Chinese cities from September to November.

Before the “Shake Run”, a fuel economy contest had held in downtown Zhengzhou on the afternoon of September 26. MG GS’s performance of consuming 5.52 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers was very close to its minimum consumption of 5.44 liters per hundred kilometers during previous testing.

The champion driver said: “If I would not have driven the car myself, I would not believe it consumed so little oil. MG GS is such a big SUV, and yet it’s more fuel-efficient than a small sedan; it’s incredible! ”

More, as a high-performance intermediate SUV, MG GS 2.0TGI is equipped with the MGE 2.0TGI turbo engine, which has a maximum power of 220 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350N·m making it possible for the car to hit 100 km/h in a mere 8 seconds and the braking distance from 100 km/h is within 38 meters. A six-speed dual clutch transmission enables a gear change in 0.2 seconds. Another option, MG GS 1.5TGI, equipped with SGE 1.5TGI turbo and TST seven-speed dual clutch transmission, consumes 6 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers at the most according to previous on-the-spot testing by auto media.

In addition, during the first crash tests since the enforcement of a stricter C-NCAP rule (2015 Edition) MG GS scored the highest score-- 55.9 points and obtained a five-star safety rating.
